The Story Behind Esjay Sportswear




For 5 years, Esjay Sportswear has used its products and platforms to tell powerful stories. Every range is more than just sportswear — it carries a meaningful message. Whether it's supporting a cause, uplifting teams, celebrating people, amplifying perspectives, aiding charities, or even helping cute doggos at the SPCA.

This particular range is extra special. It tells the Esjay story — woven together by a team of eight inspiring women, led by the maker and founder herself, Sarah Lee (Bingham).

At Esjay, every piece you wear is born from passion. Our team dreams, designs, sources, cuts, and stitches every item with care. As a proudly South African brand, we’re deeply committed to the people who make our country extraordinary. We are big on gees and firmly believe in the transformative power of sport to change lives.

When we asked our Cut, Make, Trim (CMT) team what they loved most about working at Esjay Sportswear, all eight women highlighted the safe, happy environment Sarah has fostered. While Sarah often shies away from the spotlight, we think it’s time she steps into it.

Under her leadership, Esjay Sportswear has raised funds, employed women, and created awareness for countless causes. But beyond these achievements, Sarah has built something even more profound — a brand that not only looks good on the outside but feels good on the inside too.

“Look good, feel good, do good.”

That has been the Esjay tagline for as long as we can remember. Sarah herself personifies this ethos and inspires everyone around her to live it as well.
